Seven Poquoson runners complete Virginia is for Lovers 14K
Seven Poquoson athletes completed the Virginia is for Lovers 14K on Feb. 9 in Virginia Beach.
The runners from Poquoson and their finishing times were Matt Mlachak, 27, 54:08; Thomas Olehowski, 31, 1:19:43; Marci Hil, 52, 1:21:00; Mark Farmer, 56, 1:26:02; Alynn Farmer, 55, 1:27:44; Steven Peters, 48, 1:31:22; and Maria Peters, 48, 2:02:04.
Race organizers said 2,361 runners finished the 14K race, which began and ended at Virginia Beach Field House.
Ryan Carroll, of Portsmouth, was the men's overall winner with a finishing time of 45:06, while Gina Slaby, of Virginia Beach, was the winner in the women's category with a time of 51:02.
