Counterfeit currency reported in the Yorktown area
The York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office is investigating a recent incident involving the use of $1,514.85 in counterfeit currency.
The incident was reported at 5:10 p.m. Jan. 24.
According to a news release from the police, "The suspects used $1,514.85 in counterfeit currency to purchase several prepaid Visa cards."
Police described the suspects as two females.
