Camden Schwarting takes first prize in writing contest

Poquoson Middle School student Camden Schwarting won first prize in the school's student holiday writing contest with his story "Ukrainian Christmas."
According to a press release from Poquoson City Public Schools issued Jan. 2, a total of 128 students entered the contest. Nine students were awarded second prize and Stephen Belin won the book-length manuscript category.
The contest was held in December.
Poquoson Middle School is at 985 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson.
