Poquoson's Courtney Green earns Girl Scout Gold Award
Courtney Green, of Poquoson, recently earned the Girl Scout Gold Award.
To achieve the award, scouts must dedicate more than 65 hours to a service project.
Courtney's project, which she titled "Soaring High with Reading," was created to motivate students to enjoy reading.
With the help of Poquoson Girl Scout Junior Troop 1159, Courtney recorded 60 of the school's most popular Accelerated Reader books onto CDs. Courtney completed her project as a Girl Scout ambassador and has been a Girl Scout for 13 years.
