Poquoson Library presents Up, Up and Away, stargazing program

The Poquoson Public Library presents Up, Up, and Away!, a program for all ages at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, according to a library press release.

The library invites all dreamers to experience the magic of flight with former NASA tech Dave Shuster. Learn how helicopters, gliders and hot-air balloons stay up in the air while exploring this and more at this hands-on, mile-high program.

The library also will present a stargazing program for teens from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug 7. Stargazing will go high-tech as library staff use iPads to map out constellations and experience the night sky. Participants will also design and eat “Starry Night” cupcakes.

Register for these events online or by calling the library at 757-868-3060. Patrons also can reach the library by fax at 757-868-3106 or by email at library@poquoson-va.gov.

The library is at 500 City Hall Ave. in Poquoson. It is open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday; from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
