Tabernacle United Methodist Church looking for volunteers, donations for vacation Bible school

The Tabernacle United Methodist Church is looking for volunteers and donations to help with its Vacation Bible School Sunday, July 15, and July 22.

Volunteers are needed for July 15 to help decorate the church in preparation for Vacation Bible School, which will run from Monday, July 16 to July 20. Decorating will begin at 2 p.m.

On July 22, volunteers will help clean-up and take down decorations. The day will start at 1:30 p.m.

Volunteers are also needed for the following:

• Group leader to give a daily lesson and travel with a group of six to eight children to different sites,
• Assistant group leader to help travel with the children,
• Administrative support to help complete registration, attendance and newsletters and
• Follow-up coordinator who will perform follow-ups with Vacation Bible School families

The church is also looking for donations to help with VBS. Items that are signed will be returned. The drop-off point is the registration table near the church office. Items that are needed include blue tarps, white Christmas lights, nautical stuffed animals, empty two liter soda bottles, cardboard tubes from paper towel rolls, life vests, balloons, beach towels, goggles and sponges.

The church is located at 831 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson.
