Poquoson boys tennis defeats Tabb
The Poquoson boys tennis team knocked off Tabb 8-1 on Tuesday, April 17.
Poquoson won all but one singles match and swept the doubles matches to improve to 8-0 overall and to 4-0 in the district.
Tabb is 1-2 overall and 1-2 in the district. It picked up its only win at No. 1 singles when Chiraag Shetty knocked off Tyler Cruz 6-0, 6-0.
Austin Gillem won at No. 2 singles, defeating John Svendsen 6-4, 6-1 and Reed Clifford topped Nil Amin 6-1, 6-0 at third singles.
Jason Laufenberger earned a 6-4, 6-0 win over Josh Cobb at No. 4 singles and Tyler Moore took down Michael Shintaku 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (6) at No. 5 singles.
Royce Bowden won 6-0, 6-0 over Andres Fallacara at No. 6 singles.
Cruz and Gillem teamed up to earn an 8-2 win over Amin and Svendsen at No. 1 doubles and Clifford and Bowden came away with an 8-1 win over Shintaku and Fallacara in their second doubles match.
Moore and Brandon Royal won 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
