Poquoson girl's varsity tennis takes down Warhill
Poquoson's girls tennis team knocked off Warhill 6-3 on Wednesday, April 11.
Emily Liu won at third singles for Poquoson, knocking off Alex Grunnell 6-2, 6-1. Shalni Kumar defeated Sarah Kim 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 singles and Caroline Szukelewicz beat Sarah Tolley 7-5, 6-4 at No. 5 singles.
Poquoson picked up its other three points by sweeping the doubles matches.
Hunter Bayne and Liu defeated Byrd and Molly Jessman 9-7 at No. 1 doubles while Vivian Chan and Kumar earned an 8-2 win over Grunnell and Kim at second doubles.
Szukelewicz and Allie Erenbaum topped Lauren Turner and Katie Blubaugh 8-6 at third doubles.
