Poquoson man graduates from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base
Air Force Reserve Airman Derek M. Miller recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas.
Miller, a 2009 graduate of Poquoson High School, completed an intensive eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness and basic warfare principles and skills.
Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate's degree in applied science through the Community College of the Air Force.
Miller is the son of Scott Miller of Lynn Circle in Poquoson.
