Gates Memorial 5K Race to take place April 14 in Poquoson
The TS Gates 5K Run/2 Mile Walk will take place at 8:30 a.m. April 14 at Poquoson High School. 51 Odd Road, Poquoson.
This community run and walk is a fundraiser for patients and families affected with the bone marrow failure diseases aplastic anemia, myelodysplastic syndromes and paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria. According to the press release, every day more than 50 people in the United States are diagnosed with these diseases.
The event, which also includes food, drinks and a raffle, is sponsored by Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation, a nonprofit health organization that supports people and families fighting bone marrow failure diseases. Proceeds will go to the foundation.
Same-day registration for the event will be held from 7-8:15 a.m.
