Poquoson grad scores eight in Christopher Newport University's women's basketball victory
Former Poquoson standout Kelly Halverson scored eight points and dished out two assists to help Christopher Newport University's women's basketball team knock off Averett 62-43 on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
Halverson, a 2008 graduate of Poquoson, was a two-time All-Bay Rivers District selection while in high school. She also earned second-team honors as a sophomore and was an honorable mention selection as a freshman.
Halverson scored more than 1,000 points in her prep career. The daughter of Matt and Cindy Halverson of Poquoson, she is majoring in communicationsSee Kelly Halverson's Athlete Tracker page
