Four local seniors to participate in Tidewater Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program
Four senior girls will represent the Tidewater area in the Virginia Distinguished Young Women Scholarship Program, held in March 2012 in Lynchburg.
Hannah Swenson, representing York County; Jennifer Barber, representing Yorktown; and Michelle Seywald, representing Tabb High School, all attend Tabb High School. Amy West of Poquoson, attends Poquoson High School.
The Distinguished Young Women is a national program designed to inspire high school girls to develop their potential through experiences such as public speaking, stage performance and athletics. Scholarships are available in talent, fitness, interview, self-expression and scholastics.
